For the price, this is the worst place I've stayed. But since I never make reservations in advance, I can count on sleeping here my first night because the place is almost empty of customers. Old rooms are dirty, but functional. Newly rennovated rooms are nice. In both cases, WAY OVERPRICED!

Shhhhh..... Absolutely my favorite place to stay! Filipino owned and operated. They give a discount when you ask nicely. Rooms are nice and clean.

I've stayed here many times. I can always count on the fact that they have vacancies - truth is, almost no customers. Usually I arrive at Clark Field and go to there just to sleep for the first night. After that I find better and cheaper accomodations near the Petron. The rooms are large by filipino standards, but old, dirty, and way overpriced. They will not give any discounts for any reason. Second floor rooms are the cheapest. They have newly renovated rooms that are nice, but again, over priced. The management of the hotel is NOT bargirl friendly and boasts that this is a family hotel. The staff is ok and the food is ok. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for weekly stays if you plan to have fun. I have no idea how they stay in business... the place is as quiet as a tomb. The staff is friendly but are constantly under the thumb of her Majesty, the owner. BTW, I like her just fine too... but she is definitely uncompromising.

This hotel has gone under several name changes, and was known as the Bonanza (pre 1982), Hotel California, then the Tropicana ca. 1987. It was a famous crew-rest hotel for Military Airlift Command (USAF) C-141 crews from the former Norton AFB in San Bernardino, CA. Crews were TDY (transient) and rarely stayed on-base due to the lack of suitable quarters at the time. It was considered to be a relatively "safe" place in comparison to many of the hotels on Fields Street which were subject to arson for hire during that time period.

Now the placements are back in place with the Abacan Bridge and below it correctly stitched. Well, when is that when we can correct fully-established roads up North off by some 10 metres? This must be awesome and awful technology at its best. Google googoos with it but we learn to live with it.

You could research on Supreme Court decisions here in the library. They've got computers and maybe web connexion. But they're not too much in with geographic data on hardcopy beyond the electronic Google Maps or Wikimapia.

I just love the pansit luglug (Flip-noodles), chicken and hot-dog sandwiches here with the family atmosphere. It keeps me and maybe you to wanna go on!

Overpricing and not worth the money

I have been staying at the America Hotel for over 10 years and visit the PI at least 3 times per year. The rooms have significantly improved and the ghost story goes way back to the late 90's. It is just a folk's tale that is spread from bar era to bar era.
